XP - EF Rare Constantine I - LIBERTAS PVBLICA

* Constantine Ist as Augustus 307-337 AD, AE3,
Constantinople Mint c. 327-328 AD, 19 mm.
* Obv: CONSTANTI-NVS MAX AVG; Diademed, right facing
bust of Constantine.
* Rev: LIBERT-A-S PVBLICA; Victory standing facing,
head left, in galley; holding wreath in each hand;
CONS in exergue, B in left field.
* RIC VII Constantinople #25 (R2), Van Meter #83
(VB2), Sear #3877.
* Another rare and interesting type coin for the
Constantinian collector. Tough to find at all, let
alone in this nearly as struck condition (check out
the obverse hair & oars on the galley!). Remnants
of original silvering are still present on this
piece. Do have one this nice in your Constantine
collection?
