Constantine I the Great. 307-337 AD. A Follis (3.16 gm). Struck
314-315 AD. London mint. IMP CONSTANTINVS AVG, laureate,
cuirassed bust right / ADVENTVS AVG N, Emperor left on horseback,
arm raised, MLL below. RIC VII 21 (R4). Good VF, green-brown
patina. Extremely rare! 717433.
This coin records Constantine's entrance into Rome (ADVENTVS AVG)
after his victory at the battle of Milvian Bridge, 312 AD. It was
struck in London, where Constantine was first acclaimed as
Emperor six years earlier.
