Roman Empire, Constantine I, AE19mm., c. 323 C.E., RIC 199 Lyons
(Lvgdvnvm), Obverse: Bust facing right, laureate, wearing a
cuirass.CONSTAN-TINVSAVG. Reverse: Globe on altar inscribed
VOT/IS/XX in three lines; above, three stars. BEATATRAN-QVILLITAS.
VG, but with a coarse, grainy texture. It is from the first
officina of the Lyons mint ( Mintmark: PLG ). The Beata
Tranquillitas series were minted around 321 to 324 C.E., and only
in the three western mints.
