Comments: RARE and very well preserved bilon argenteus, that deserves its
place in any collection. Amazingly LOW reserve!!!
Constantine I , the Great a.d. 307 - 337
Besides his long reign and being a good politician, Constantine I is famous
for the number of changes he made to the Roman coinage during his reign. He
introduced the solidus that later would replace the aureus. He also
introduced the siliqua and the heavier silver piece - miliarense. During
his reign the follis was decreasing in weight and size and eventually it
was replaced by the AE3 denomination. Lots of other minor changes took
place as well.
