The sestertius remember, for the first time, the congiaria. These were public acts of imperial liberalism in which the emperor bestowed gifts to the population, using tesserae to determine who should receive gifts. Congius etymologically refers to a measure of liquid because originally the distributions consist mainly oil and wine, two basic necessities precious. The reverse is reminiscent of a datum Congiarium Populo, an act repeated by the generous Emperor, who seems to attract most of the government of ""panem et circenses"". The representation insists on how the act of generosity is intended to promote particularly the children who appear on his knees in the traditional iconography of some citizen who collects cards, gifts. In this example there are but the iconography composition requires the presence of a female figure, the Liberalitas, Asting the 'Emperor, as well as in future emissions of Trajan which reverses the cornucopia. In emissions of Adrian will also depicted the personification of Italy with two children means that the established right to enjoy cives care bestowed by the liberality of the 'Emperor Marcus Aurelius so that the word disappears from congiarium legends, for only Liberalitas term..
