NERO CLAVD CAESAR AVG GER P M TR P IMP. P. P. Laureate bust of Nero to right, wearing aegis. Rev. S C Triumphal arch with wreath hanging in the entrance; above, statue of the emperor in facing quadriga flanked by Victory, Pax and two soldiers; in a niche on the left side of the arch, large statue of Mars; on the remaining walls of the arch, figures of soldiers and deities. BMC 183. BN 303. C. 308. RIC 143. WCN 126. Lovely, golden-brown ‘Tiber’ patina; excellent portrait. Usual surface imperfections as found on ‘Tiber’ coins, otherwise, about extremely fine.
